To complete the assignment "Grade ? Note Names Game":
This assignment is for ALL students.
This is where you put it all together! You are given a note in either the treble clef or the bass clef using a combined clef called the Grand Staff. The note will move across the screen from right to left. While the note is grey, think about the letter name of that note. Once the note turns black, press the correct letter name of that note.
The first game is played using only the notes on the lines and spaces of the treble and bass clefs. The second game adds some ledger lines in for fun.
Good luck!

This assignment is for Grade 6, 7 and 8 students.
When naming the keys on the piano, remember the following rules:
- every "C" is found directly to the left of the group of 2 black keys
- every "F" is found directly to the left of the group of 3 black keys
- the black keys get their names from the white keys on either side; one is a flat, the other is a sharp

To complete the assignment "Grade 8 Major Scales":
This assignment is for Grade 8's ONLY.
After completing some warm-up quizzes on naming notes (treble and bass clef) and naming keys on the keyboard, you will then be asked to complete the next 7 notes of an 8 note major scale (you are given the starting note).
In order to do this, you need to use the pattern of Tones and Semitones EVERY MAJOR SCALE FOLLOWS:
T T S T T T S
Use a keyboard to figure out the 2nd note of the major scale (the first one is given to you). Remember, that note will be a TONE higher than the first note. The 3rd note will be a TONE higher than the second one. The 4th note of the scale will be a SEMITONE higher than the third one. Keep going until you complete the scale.
Some things to remember about major scales:
You are asked to complete major scales in both the treble clef and bass clef.
The picture below gives you the notes (and tones and semitones) in the C Major Scale (the easiest scale).

Some things to remember about major scales:
- you must go through the letters in alphabetical order
- no two notes will use the same letter (except the first and last notes...they will be exactly the same)
- never mix sharps and flats in a major scale...once you encounter a sharp or flat, stick with that symbol from that point on
You are asked to complete major scales in both the treble clef and bass clef.
